How I DIDN’T Ruin My Marriage Proposal—Conclusion

Conclusion: click here.

The short version: It happened! The long version: only friends and family get. The middle version will be the one that my dear readers get, and it is as follows.

Read on to find out what went down.

The conclusion of the story really starts out while I was in Ireland. I was on the bus with my tour group, snoozing away after an eventful day in County Sligo and the Bricklieve Mountains. The trip back to the B & B from the mountains took roughly 3 hours one-way, so I had plenty of time to sleep on the bus. Suddenly, I awoke and yanked out my notebook… sketching “the ring”. I showed the person I was rooming with the sketch and promised I would keep her in the loop regarding whether whatever I was intuiting was correct.

So, fast-forward now to last week on Monday. I was thoroughly enjoying being in Orlando for a few days of theme park shenanigans prior to the start of Star Wars Celebration VI. We had arrived mid-afternoon Sunday and spent the day settling into our hotel and going for a swim. On Monday, we decided to go to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. On the bus over to Hollywood Studios, I got the bright idea of doing my card of the day pulls based on the things I was seeing while on vacation and taking pictures of things that reminded me of what I would see on a tarot card.

For Monday, I saw Mickey Mouse’s large wizard hat and was reminded of the Magician.

My “card” of the day for last Monday (8/20)… a truly magical day.

My interpretation:

“Card” of the day: The Magician: Anything you put your mind to can be accomplished. It truly is a magical day. The sky’s the limit!
The boyfriend usually reads my card of the day interpretation first if he happens to be around when I post it. After leaving Hollywood Studios and on the way to Epcot, I captioned the picture I took using my smartphone and did my “card” of the day interpretation. He smiled at my interpretation… because within the next hour, he was going to propose.
The calm quiet voice of my intuition told me on the bus, “Epcot. England.”
Because of this, I anticipated the proposal to happen at the World Showcase in Epcot, in “England”. This is not what happened. Because my now fiancé said he went with the moment and not with the plan. And that is the reason why when he proposed to me one “country” early (in “Canada”), I was floored and completely surprised.
In the end, he really did get the drop on me.
For all of you that get involved with professional psychics/readers, I salute you. Sometimes it is a tough job to surprise us. And sometimes it is completely worth it. I’m sure my now fiancé and I will continue to have funny anecdotes due to the nature of my job, but I have finally learned to shut my mouth and wait for the surprise. My fiancé has found the way to surprise me: don’t go with the plan. Go with the moment, and you will be able to surprise a psychic.
[I did show him the sketch of the ring… I scared myself with how dead-on it was! He just rolled his eyes.]

Blessings,
~*~Hilary~*~

    Congratulations!

Sooo…..do we get to see the ring and the sketch?

    • Hilary says:

Val, since the ring is a family ring (my fiancé’s great-grandmother’s ring), I will respectfully not be posing it here. However, the image I chose for this series of posts is startlingly similar to the ring!

  2. Inga Deksne says:

Please share, Bri! I’m glad a fellow intuitive enjoyed it as well… I think anyone that gets involved with a psychic romantically should be considered for sainthood! 😉

Going with the moment — that’s a beautiful lesson for anyone, isn’t it?! Congratulations, and all the best wishes for your marriage.

Jessica: Yes, I loved it when he said, “I went with the moment and not the plan.” And now he’s annoyed with me that I gave away the “secret” to surprising a psychic! 😉

Meg: You must learn to trust your intuition… trusting in that information leads to more of it coming through. That’s my belief, anyway! Thank you for reading!

Love love love this. The whole thing sounds so magical. I’m fascinated with how you created cards of the day based on the images you were seeing. VERY creative!

But back to ‘the ring’. Of course, I would love to see it as well but understand and respect the heirloom side of it. Congrats to you and your fiancee and I hope you BOTH have many more surprises!

Love how easy it is for you to “see”. My intuition is so strong, but I so often ignore it.

So awesome that he was able to surprise you!!

    • Hilary says:

Amanda: Acknowledgment of what your intuition is saying tends to make it stronger. So, don’t ignore what you’re getting from your intuition, even if you chose to not follow it at that time, if that makes sense.

  11. Sue Burness says:

Congratulations! What a sweet love story! Don’t know why, but it reminds me of the fable in which the woman cuts her hair to buy a watch for her love and the man gives her a hairbrush…don’t remember the details but you probably know what I mean 🙂

    • Hilary says:

Sue: You’re thinking of “Gift of the Magi” by O. Henry. 😉 And yes, it kinda reminded me of that too, but I didn’t cut my hair and he didn’t sell his watch!

  12. Hilary.. love the romance and that there was still some surprise left in it for you.. more magical for both of you that way and there are certain pieces that even those of us who follow and trust our intuitive guidance are not always meant to know.
    congratulations to you both.
    love and blessings, Lisa

Lisa: That’s the part of being a professional psychic that drives me nuts… some information is STILL hidden from me! Which tends to keep me humble, and when things work out or come together it always becomes a magical experience. Thank you for your blessings and congratulations!
