Readers Studio 2014: Day 2

The tarot swag from Day 1

The tarot swag from Day 1: the Dark Carnival Tarot, The Street Smart Psychic’s Guide to Getting a Tarot Reading, and Sasha Graham’s 365 Tarot Spreads.

Saturday morning arrived far too early for me, so I hit that snooze button at least twice before I finally got up, ran downstairs and grabbed myself a cup of coffee to go to the Breakfast Roundtable hosted by Heatherleigh Navarre of the Boston Tea Room (which by the way, ain’t in Boston but Detroit). The topic was on the “space between”, that place that tarot readers inhabit between purely academic readings vs. purely intuitive readings: if you asked a bunch of tarot readers, you’d probably come to some agreement that most of us are not strictly one way or the other. What can the seemingly academic readers learn from the intuitives? What could the intuitive-leaners learn from the scholars?

Next we had the second Master Class of the weekend with Caitlín Matthews. Her class was entitled “Which Way Are Your Cards Facing?” and dealt with the tarot figures’ line of sight and which way their bodies are facing to explain the interplay of the cards to gain more in-depth reading insights. It definitely had a very Lenormand flavor to reading tarot cards which I found fascinating!

Next we had a nice long lunch break before the afternoon’s Master Class with Sheilaa Hite. Sheilaa’s class provided some much needed spreads that dealt with relationships between people… I especially liked the card position “The Heart of the Matter”… I will definitely be using these spreads with my clients!

With all that learning, by the end of the day it was time to PARTY! Some photos from the banquet dinner:

Things got even crazier after hours, where Courtney Weber and Gina Jean decided to re-enact what it’s like to read in a crowded NYC bar. The Minnesota tarot peeps, not to be outdone, decided to show us New Yorkers what it’s like to read during karaoke… I of course was happy to sing “All By Myself” as loud as I could to help recreate their setting!

The picture doesn’t show my face, but let me just tell you… my eyes were drooping by this time. It had been a long day, and though it was a fun time, it was way past time I went to bed. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have had enough energy for Sunday, the final day of Readers Studio!

Blessings,
