It’s high time I talk about the Universe’s sometimes twisted sense of humor. I just finished reading the book Psychic Tarot by Nancy Antenucci and Melanie Howard… and within the book they describe their favorite definition of synchronicity as “the Divine giggle”.
There are times when you know the gods are laughing at you. When there is a choice between laughing along with them or raging at them, I choose to laugh. A good example of this happened this past weekend, when I went out to get my PO Box for my tarot biz.
I prepaid and went to my post office to present my forms of ID and pick up the keys. I got my PO Box number and my keys, and took a walk to my favorite local places to “celebrate” as it were, telling EVERYONE that I got a PO Box. I was so excited.
On my way to the next place to brag, I got a phone call from the post office. I was given the wrong set of keys and the wrong PO Box number! I had to go back immediately. The postman was so apologetic, but I kept reassuring him it was fine. Then I began to laugh as I received my real PO Box number, which contained all my favorite lucky numbers, and was extremely easy to remember! The postman looked at me like I was crazy, but smiled as I explained, “This was meant to be, so don’t worry about it.” He still kept looking at me like I was crazy, but smiled back.
I feel like this incident was a nod from the gods and a small attempt at telling me to keep my ego in check. What I gained was a greater appreciation for their sense of humor, and mine. And of course, a better PO Box number.
