TODAY’s challenge (DAY 3): What’s your definition of freedom in business and adventure in life? Top Tip: You can carry on from Day 2 and the work you did around clarifying what you could do if you could do anything at all.

When you have a business like mine, where it’s just you and no else, when you answer to no one but your clients and you have no staff underneath you, there is a tendency to want to do it all. Because, after all, who’s going to do it for you if it’s just you?
I’ll admit it freely, right here, right now: I’m a bit of a control freak when it comes to my business, even if I don’t have all the answers or expertise. I’ve got my skill set of reading tarot, and I’m always trying to expand it by learning other methods of divination that appeal to me, taking classes, learning from the best in my field, and attending conferences. But just because I happen to specialize in my skill set and try to expand in it, doesn’t mean that I have the answers when my Internet goes down, or my alarm clock doesn’t go off, or if I accidentally double book appointments (hasn’t happened yet, thank goodness!) or any number of things that go along with owning your own business. All of these things happen in the periphery of a business, and if they run well, they are invisible… and if they don’t, it’s an eyesore for both client and business owner to see.
For me, freedom is all about release: release of the stuff that I’m not good at, and embrace of the stuff that I am good at. It’s about being wise enough to know that even if I don’t have all the answers, I can ask the experts, research, or outsource to someone that knows better than me.
I’m not at the point yet to release, but I’m getting there. The way I want my business and life to be is the World card: within the structure provided, I can dance whichever way I want.
Blessings,
