Day 4: Unlock Your Superpower! (you know you have them, right?)

Day 4 Challenge: Hopefully, you have discovered at least one or two superpowers that you have. They could even be something that you didn’t know existed until now! I want you to write down what these are and how these superpowers will help you to realize your dream of living the freedom lifestyle.

We all have superpowers, but we often don’t realize it because they are the things that come easily to us, that we can do without trying, and only until someone else points out the genius that lies within is is exactly when we come to see it for ourselves.

Today is an attempt to draw out and pinpoint those qualities within myself to find that elusive sweet spot between joy and effort and work and talent.

For the past few weeks I’ve been attending Theresa Reed’s Tarot Raps on Twitter, and have been enjoying the topics, questions, and the conversations that stem from them immensely. It is often when we are confronted with questions from outside of ourselves that we have the answers for that we begin to realize just how much knowledge we actually do have about a subject.

This evening, the topic was Your Tarot Reading Style, which fits very nicely and snugly into talking about my particular superpower, that of reading tarot. Not only am I good at reading tarot, but I have a specific style and focus, namely teaching tarot, and teaching how to do spell-work and magick using tarot. My reading style is also fairly straightforward and honest. To be blunt? I’m blunt! But people seem to like it when I tell it like it is.

When participating in the Tarot Rap, the Tarot Lady herself Theresa Reed had to point out to me that I’m also accurate. Which I thought should go without saying, but hey, I guess not, considering the above: sometimes your superpowers you can’t see for yourself until others need to point it out to you!

Another one of my superpowers is reading (and I don’t mean the cards, in this instance). I love to read: fiction, nonfiction, science fiction, fantasy, marketing, self-help… I stormed through most of the Outlander series this year, after finishing Song of Ice and Fire the year before. And I realized this love of reading is also one of my superpowers from the #TarotRap tonight:

See? I am constantly finding ways to improve and grow my tarot work, without even trying… finding layers of meaning and connections within everything. Did you know, for example, that the gods of the Seven Kingdoms in Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones, for those of you who watch the series instead of reading the books) correlate quite nicely with some of the Major Arcana of the tarot? More about this can be found in my post here about how tarot works.

Would I have ever made that connection without both reading the books and reading the tarot? Doubtful. But thankfully I did, and I continue to not only learn from those connections, but teach others to find those connections within their own lives as a way for them to learn the tarot for themselves.

Today, ask yourself: what’s my superpower? And if you can’t think of one, ask someone else: what am I good at? What would you like to learn from me? I guarantee you will get an answer!

Blessings,
~*~Hilary~*~
